Away from the keyboard
music · yoga · drawingWhat I do away from the screen still shapes what I build.
Cello taught me that precision isn't the same as stiffness. You can hit the note and still miss the phrase. It shows up in how I build: the sensor can be accurate, the UI can be correct, and the system can still feel wrong until the rhythm is right.
Piano is where I feel a pattern in my hands before I can name it. Writing is where I work out ideas too slippery for code. Yoga is the counterweight — enough quiet to come back sharper.
But I don't keep these because they're useful. Some of the best things in a life never have to earn their place. I believe in a humane education — history, music, the arguments that never settle — not as a detour from the technical work, but as the thing that tells it who it's for. The useless hours are where I stay human enough to build for people, not just machines.

Where I first understood harmonic frequency — strings ringing together, and tuning you feel before you can measure it.
